Professor Maroo is conducting research on the effect of surfactants on pool boiling for cooling surfaces. This project will work to visualize and study the pool boiling at a microscopic level using a laser and high-speed camera to more thoroughly understand the impact of surfactants on pool boiling. Enhancement in boiling heat transfer can lead to the more efficient use of energy in boiling applications.
