Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (SyracuseCoE) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Innovation Fund.
The Innovation Fund is a seed fund supported by SyracuseCoE Partner Program memberships and is designed to help companies overcome research and development barriers to commercialization, leveraging the support of SyracuseCoE-affiliated universities, faculty and students.
Members of the SyracuseCoE Partner Program are invited to submit proposals for small-scale research and development projects of up to $7,500. Projects must address a challenge within SyracuseCoE’s core focus areas. Applicants are strongly encouraged to include research engagements with faculty and students affiliated SyracuseCoE and our Partner institutions: Syracuse University, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Applications are due Friday, October 24, 2025. In this round, SyracuseCoE anticipates granting up to four (4) awards of up to $7,500 each. Projects must be completed by June 1, 2026.
Visit the Innovation Fund application page for more information on eligibility and reporting requirements and to access application forms.
Since the program’s inception, the SyracuseCoE Innovation Fund has supported more than 60 projects and allocated over $600,000 in commercialization funding.
New members of the SyracuseCoE Partner Program are welcome to apply for funding in this round. To learn more about the Partner Program, contact Tammy Rosanio at tlrosani@syr.edu.
